Strawberry fields.....

Hard to believe I am in the last week of school holidays..
Seems that time is playing awful tricks on me lately...
We headed up the freeway to the strawberry fields on the weekend and picked around 6 kilos of fruit.
The bushes have suffered with the heat but there was still alot of fruit left for the public to pick.
It's such a beautiful setting up there in the hills. I almost said to the kids to slow down their enthusiastic picking as the time went too quick and we had five of these tubs filled in no time at all.
I pureed for the freezer, laid some out for eating, I made a strawberry cheesecake and the rest are destined for jam.
If you want to pick your own fruit/berries here is a link that covers Australia wide.

That's a nice way to fill a couple of hours Suzanne and every time you eat your Jam it will bring back those lovely memories.

Jackie, it was nice and the jam has turned out really well this year, I did it in the stinking heat yesterday.
